MURDEROUS MOLLUSKS!

Is my new solo exhibition opening at Bar Carlo December 28th, begins at 6pm. 6433 Foster Road, Portland, Oregon 97206

I have always found mollusks to be unusual and beautiful creatures. Only recently did I discover they have a dangerous and destructive side too, so be warned!
Shocking revelations in my research were:

Some mollusks are carnivorous hunters, cannibals, lethally poisonous, destroyers of crops, carriers of diseases, eaters of stucco homes, destroyers of tires, and dangerous projectiles!
My collected paintings in “Murderous Mollusks” are done to illustrate the beauty and danger that exist simultaneously in these same creatures.

Sylvia Mann

"The Mann" a.k.a. Sylvia Mann is an artist, writer, and creator of the Eye Bot and Snail Cat comics series. She is a Portland native with a B.A. in fine and applied arts from the University of Oregon. Other accomplishments include completion of the Graduate Jeweler program at the Revere Academy (San Francisco), and continuing education courses from both PNCA and PCC. Study at these institutions included: ceramics, photography, weaving, welding, metalsmithing, jewelry, painting, and drawing.
